Open Studio Expand Your Horizons
18 Feb - 26 Mar 2023
An art experience to remember.
Welcome to Spud Lane Studios. Named for the laneway that runs behind the Big Potato in Robertson, the Southern Highlands’ funkiest art space is a gallery with a difference, bringing a slice of urban New York to countryside Robertson.
Spud Lane Studios: A rich tapestry of contemporary art lines the walls.
Inside a converted warehouse is a 200 square-meter cornucopia of art — the real deal. Works in progress stapled to the wall. Tables littered with squeezed paint, brushes and painting knives. Finished pieces meticulously framed, ready for sale. You can literally breathe the art.
InstaCats I by Spud Lane's co-founder Ric Abel.
Alongside the working studios we have a large exhibition space with a regularly changing curation of works.
We reopen for 2023 with bold artworks by contemporary artist Ric Abel, delicate moody pieces from emerging artist Cat Doyle, and the amazing work of Archibald Prize winner Keith Looby.

Spud Lane Studios is open to art lovers Thursday to Sunday 10—4 and by appointment.
Alongside a curated exhibition space, you’ll also find works in progress, the stories behind the work, and the artists Ric Abel and Cat Doyle.
We are centrally located in Robertson NSW next to the Big Potato. Robertson is the Eastern Gateway to the Southern Highlands, an easy drive from Wollongong, the Illawarra, and Bowral. We often welcome visitors from Sydney, Canberra, and the South Coast too. Get driving directions and a local map
